This record isn\'t a fake soundtrack to an existing movie. It\'s a real soundtrack to a movie that doesn\'t exist at all. To the not so imaginary meeting of Spaggiari and Minimatic in Nice in 1977, between bright nostalgia and shady atmospheres, sunsets at the Paillon tunnel entrance, and flurries of cops in trench coats in front of the Negresco.

Minimatic also almost (un)known as Brother Moulinex or Monsieur Sonotone or Raymond Tempi the erotomaniac, or most of the time as a bald guy called Pascal Houpert. Composer, musician, producer, living somewhere in Southwest of France.
Born in Nice, 1970. Riviera, seaside, deluxe cars and high boots, eternal sun, "Promenade des Anglais"... Well, everything is said.
Black and white. Fatal love for easy tunes, smoothly arrangements, sad pop, punk rock...& passion for the deep soul-funk ghetto sounds, deep grooves from the roots black culture. Between silliness and consciousness. Between kitsch & beauty. Always hesitating. How to precisely define his sound? Retro or modern? Funky or dark? Groovy or gloomy? Cheesy or suicidal? Never choose. Life has to be cinematic. That’s all.
In the real life, he has been seen in various positions: Playing Fender Rhodes live on stage for the UK pop songwriter Bill Pritchard, DJ mixing @ the glamorous Cannes French Film Festival alongside with Jean Croc & Ariel Wizman, composing cinematic soundtracks for serious contemporary theatrical plays, sound designing several TV ads and trendy luxury shops musical ambiances and inaugurating the Boutique-Chic EP series on Stereofiction. Recently fully involved in the production of the forthcoming Albert de Paname album for the French label Pschent.
Minimatic appears on several tasty compilations around the world: Champs Elysees Cafe vol3, Erotic Lounge Vol6, La Perla, Music In Style...

Ce disque n’est pas la fausse B.O d’un film qui existe. Mais la vraie B.O d’un film qui n’existe pas.
La rencontre pas si imaginaire que ça, de Spaggiari et Minimatic, à Nice en 1977, entre nostalgie lumineuse et ambiances sombres, couchers de soleil à l’entrée du tunnel du Paillon et ballets de flics en trench-coat devant le Negresco.

Minimatic aussi (in)connu sous les noms de Brother Moulinex ou Monsieur Sonotone ou parfois Raymond Tempi. Mais la plupart du temps, bizarrement, on l’appelle Pascal Houpert.
Compositeur, musicien, DJ. Né à Nice en 1970 : tout un programme. Riviera, bord de mer, couchers de soleil, jolies robes Courrèges, "Promenade des Anglais"... Besoin d’en dire plus ? Amour fatal pour l’easy-listening et ses arrangements ciselés, contre entichement dangereux pour une tradition Pop sombre et triste, le tout saupoudré d’une inconditionnelle passion pour la soul initiale, le funk gras et profond échappé des ghettos…
La question se pose: comment faire cohabiter tout ce monde là?

Du coup et dans le désordre, on l’a vu accompagner sur scène Bill Pritchard, mixer aux côtés de Jean Croc et Ariel Wizman au Festival de Cannes, enchaîner des raretés sur 45tours au fin fond du Unique club à Düsseldorf, composer des musiques cinématiques et nostalgiques pour des docus et pièces de théâtre contemporain, diriger la programmation musicale d\'un vieux temple de l\'afro-funk parisien (Cithéa club), ou s\'impliquer avec le label Pschent (compil Costes, Mezzanine de l’Alcazar…) dans la (super)production de l’album d’Albert de Paname.
On le retrouve enfin compilé sur de nombreuses galettes avec notamment "la raie o milieu", étrange hymne à l\'amour capillaire, ou sa cover improbable et bossa du hitissime nordique des A’ha, «Take On Me».
